Example conversation with the Kemar assistant (demo)

I need to ship a 40' reefer of oranges from Damietta to Rotterdam next week.

I compared the sailings for next week. Your two best options:

Direct service · 40' reeferSample priceTransit about 11 days · Weekly sailing
Via transshipment · 40' reeferSample priceTransit about 15 days · Lower rate

You will need a phytosanitary certificate and an ACID number. Shall I prepare the checklist?

FAQ

Good questions

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the quote form or describe your shipment to the assistant. If we have a current rate you'll see it straight away; otherwise our team replies with confirmed options.

Which Egyptian ports do you cover?

All major gateways: Damietta, Alexandria, Ain Sokhna, East and West Port Said, and Suez, for both cargo and vessel agency.

Do you attend vessels at anchorage?

Yes. Our agency team handles port formalities, crew changes, provisions and bunkering at berth or at anchorage, around the clock.

Can you help me export to a new market?

We review the destination's import requirements for your product, prepare the documents and can connect you with buyers looking for Egyptian produce.

Which documents will I need?

It depends on the cargo and the destination. Typical exports need a bill of lading, a commercial invoice and packing list, a certificate of origin and, for food, phytosanitary and NFSA approvals. Imports also need an ACID number.

Who confirms my booking?

You approve the details, then a member of our operations team confirms capacity with the carrier before anything is final.

The name

Kemar: from Kemet to the sea

Kemet, "the black land", is the ancient name for Egypt, after the dark silt the Nile left behind. Egyptians moved goods by river and sea for thousands of years. Kemar carries that heritage into modern shipping: rooted in Egypt, built for the water.
